This reserve can be found just a short drive from Puerto Pollensa on the coastal road to Alcudia. The reserve consists of a stretch of beach on the left with the main entrance on the right which leads to a mixed habitat of both fresh and saltwater lagoons in addition to scrubland and pines.
Although the main part of the reserve is to the right the beach holds breeding Kentish Plover and Little Ringed Plover. During migration, the area attracts a wide variety of passerines such as Flycatchers, Redstarts and Blue Headed Wagtails. Additionally, you will find numerous warblers and also Nightingales. Honey Buzzards and Montagu’s Falcons together with other migrating birds of prey are regular visitors and on occasion, you may see the Red Footed Falcon.
During the summer, in addition, breeding birds such as Black-winged Stilts and Cetti Warblers there are also plenty of swallows and swifts which attract hunting Eleonora’s Falcons, particularly around dawn.
